new to this blogging thing

Well, today is Monday. I figured that a Monday was a good day to start. After a beautiful brunch of peas, we went to Olan Mills to have Christmas pictures made for our grandparents (surprise!)....and I believe that, after going to the YMCA, was the highlight of our day! Noah was absolutely precious for the 30 minutes we had to wait...smiles and giggles, drooling all over me. Then get him in front of a camera and he's shell-shocked...no smiles for the photographer. I guess he used them all up on Mommy.

Now that we're past Thanksgiving in the Big D, it's finally cooled down. It only got up to about 55 today. (Compared to the 80s of the past weeks, we are feeling quite cold!) So I made a pot of chili in hopes that the residual heat from that will keep me warm all night since our heat is set on 59. :) just jokes, but you know the budget man...he acts like he doesn't like his title, but he's secretly proud of it. Adam (a.k.a. Budget Man) is working ever-so-hard at his last few months as a resident before we make our big move to Jonesboro. And only weeks to go till he's not Chief anymore!! (cheers and more cheers from me for that!!)

So, right now...it's almost 9pm and Noah is shrieking from upstairs. We're not quite sure why he does that, but an hour or two after he goes down for the night, he wakes up screaming. Currently, we're working on letting him work it out on his own. I have never felt so cruel, but I know it will turn into a good night's sleep for him in the long run. I don't want to wish away his time as a baby, but it will be so nice when he is able to say "Mommy, I had a bad dream...I need a drink of water...there's a monster in my closet..." But I guess that will have it's down-side as well. In the meantime, just lots of cuddling, and hopefully he won't have too many bad dreams in the future!
