So I'm not the best blogger. Not a blogger at all, I guess...have been through an entire pregnancy & not said a word. I got prego shortly after my last post and haven't written since. I'm going into the hospital to have Mason in 4 days if I don't kick him out sooner. Right now he has his nightly hiccups which are so very very fun for me (when I think my dinner may come back up). Actually, when I count the rockin' indigestion and gas he's causing in there, the hiccups aren't really that bad. So, should I sum up the whole pregnancy in one post? I guess so. First trimester was unremarkable, really kindof forgot I was pregnant, save the constant feeling of sleepiness and fatigue that never really went away....it just faded a little in second trimester and came back with great force in these last couple weeks. (And who can remember they are pregnant when the child on the OUTSIDE is more demanding than the one actually connected to you by an umbilical cord)
We found out sometime around 20 weeks that Mason was a he...no perks here for the radiologist's wife. An ultrasound is oh, so easy to do when you have a 16-month-old on your lap... And then around 28 weeks (could be wrong here) we (meaning Adam & I ONLY) took a little trip to Puerto Rico. I was stunning on the beach in my tankini, I'm sure, but I didn't care one bit....I just dug me a hole and laid on my BELLY!!! That was nice, and probably our last vacation for a while. Hmmm.... sad...I could use another massage.
It took me till around 32 or 33 weeks to figure out that we didn't have anything for this sweetie to sleep in or on...so we got a crib. It is so amazing that you are so prepped and ready for #1 to get here, I'm pretty sure I had Noah's nursery finished by the time I was even showing, and this poor #2 kid, he's lucky that he has a bed. And he really is lucky that he's going to be born in same season as Noah, otherwise, he may not have any clothes. (But Shirley has made sure he has plenty (read:12) monogrammed towels, and at least his fair share of burp cloths and blankets with his name embroidered on them.) So if we run out of clothes for the little booger, we can just wrap him in a towel. He won't notice.
Found out last week that he weighs about 6lbs, putting him on track to be similar size as noah. We'll check that accuracy on Wednesday when he gets here. (or earlier IF I have anything to do with it: excessive exercise (waddling quickly), spicy food, a massage, oh, and cooking brownies naked is also supposed to do the trick, along with a dose of castor oil....are you supposed to put the castor oil in the brownies?) My contractions are pretty good and they're long, but they're not consistent at this point. Don't know what to do about that b/c I don't think they give Pitocin over the counter these days.
Poor Noah. We've been practicing being nice to the baby doll. I am pretty sure he doesn't get it. If he needs to be taller, he uses that baby doll as a stool. He randomly takes the diaper and all of the clothes off. He burps it with excessive force. Frankly, I'm a little worried about the safety of the second child....hopefully he comes with some kind of warranty or guarantee. If not, we're definately not getting a refund. :) Just praying this one likes the swing OR the bouncy. (and doesn't cry 14 hours of daylight and most of the night).
